Google has introduced a newfangled array of apps that encourage people to work
together and increase their productivity.
Because of its way of doing things, Google has become one of the most wanted companies to work for. Since the majority of workers have a computer and the majority of companies have dedicated internet access using apps should be something you are also giving your employees access to. Let's take a look at how you can learn from the Google environment in order to get the best out of your employees.
Google Apps for Business
There are many Google-designed apps out there (and apps that work WITH Google apps, for that matter) that encourage collaboration and productivity. The main ones are Google Docs (this covers documents, spreadsheets and presentations), Google Sites, Google Groups and Google Video. All of the above allow for easy communication and transparent working scenarios; for instance, with Google Docs multiple people can edit simultaneously, in real time. No need to send files back and forth; everything is saved online in a variety of available file formats. Access is easily managed and controlled.
Google Sites allows you to build any kind of website which is readily available to embed rich content and provide easy access to information for your employees.
Want to have an informal discussion about your projects? Why not try Google Groups, where all it takes is a few clicks of a button to create an online community, for information sharing or just keeping people in the loop. It's easy to manage your groups and share content such as documents, sites, or video.
And speaking of video, Google Video is another great route to communicate in a more 'real' way. This can come in the form of training videos or general business communications, all securely saved and streamed by Google - no large files or specialized software to worry about. The videos can be embedded, and you can even get feedback if you want it.
Google Hangouts
If video's not enough, why not try 'Hangouts'? Since Google introduced 'Hangouts', it's been seen as an unmitigated success - sort of like the silver lining to Google+'s uncertainty cloud. More recently, Google has broadened Hangouts further to go way beyond video chat, providing everything we need to readily communicate and collaborate in real time. Because of this, it's becoming increasingly popular in the workplace and in educational environments, and is highly adaptive for online learning, as well as for casual chat.
Other workspaces
Of course, there's more to the Google Environment than just apps. If you're looking for inspiration to help make your workspace a more productive and collaborative environment, why not take a look at some of the other most collaborative workspaces out there? You could take a leaf out of Skype's book, Microsoft, Pensar or Mono. And of course, there's always Facebook to fall back on.
So, there you have it. We hope you leave this page feeling energized and a-buzz with fresh ideas and inspiration that you can pass onto your employees for that all-important collaborative business environment that's proved so beneficial for many of the big guns out there. Whether you want to follow Google's example, or take a look at some of the other collaborative apps and companies out there, remember to have fun and do what works best for your business - whatever that may be.

Google Page Rank is very important for sites and blogs. Page Rank update happens every 3 to 4 months. It is an automatic system that depends on quality links pointing your main domain. A single link from a high PR blog can change your rank from 0 to 4. Google PR basically ranks a page on the basis of its back links and how authoritative that link is.
Google's 2012 page rank updates was on February, May, August, and the last was on November 2012.
Here is the copy of 2013 Google Page Rank expected date if you want to keep track it.
1st Update: January 28 to February 6

What Are Rich Snippets
A snippet is a few lines of text that appear under every search result. They are designed to give users a sense for what’s on the page and why it’s relevant to their query. Rich snippets will surely increase your blog's CTR or click through rate. When your blog or website appears at the search engine result page (Google most importantly) and it contains rich snippets mark up like the breadcrumb, star ratings and authorship, it has a much higher chance to be clicked and visited. A report or certain case study said that, a 30% increase in CTR is achieved when rich snippet markup is applied to a certain webpage.

A Visual Guide To Rich Snippets

Visual Guide to Rich Snippets on SEOmoz created by BlueGlass Interactive.
Google.Com supports many types of rich snippets that you can use for your blog or website.
Applying a rich snippet to your blog or website is not too difficult, especially when using the Wordpress blog platform. Wordpress has great plugins to enhance your SERP listing when installed. I am using the following plugins for my personal Wordpress based blog RonLeyba.com
RDFa Breadcrumb - provide links back to each previous page the user navigated through to get to the current page or - in hierarchical site structures - the parent pages of the current one. An easy template tag for showing a breadcrumb menu on your site and on google search results with built in RDFa Markup.
GD Star Rating - plugin allows you to set up rating and review system for posts, pages and comments in your blog. You can set many options for displaying the rating stars, and add widgets into the sidebars for displaying top ratings and other statistics generated by the plugin.
How about for blogspot blogs (blogger.com hosted blogs)? Well, I haven't found out any plugins or widgets for that, yet. You can use and try out this free schema markup creator at http://schema-creator.org/ for you to come up with easy to use and copy paste ready rich snippets/mark up codes. The codes can be pasted at your theme's HTML code or via widgets using the HTML/TEXT option.
For the Google authorship (Your Google+ picture appears at the SERP beside your website description along with the number of circles you belong with), no plugin is needed for that. You just have to follow simple guide about author information in search results that Google laid out in here. The Google Authorship feature works for any type of website or with any blog platform.
To test out your rich snippets or data mark up, you can use this http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets . Below is the result of my blog post titled Learning the 5 Types of College Professors when tested at their tool. Notice the author picture, star rating and breadcrumb above it. Nice right?:
Important Note:
There is no guarantee that rich snippet or your structured markup will be shown for your page on actual SERPs. For more information, check this information from Google discussing the reason why your rich snippets are not appearing (it includes troubleshooting as well).
Hope you got something new in this post. It might look like too much for you to consume, but trust me, it's worth your time studying it if you plan to make it big online.
