Mall theft, shoplifters in the Philippines mall has been a long time problem. They always come up with a different techniques once their operation got exposed. The syndicate operates in groups to cover up the designated thief. They are all over the mall looking for the possible victim, and once given a chance, just by eye contact and body language, they will all move in just a matter of seconds. And get away with the victim as quick as possible like any other normal shoppers while passing the loot to another member in case somebody is after them.
1st photo: the syndicate, keeping an eye to the chosen victim, watching for the right time, which is when the store crew turned her back to get the order ready.
2nd photo: The man in black shirt, probably the leader of the gang, pointing the woman where to stand as a look out and at the same time serves as a shield to the costumers from the next store.
3rd photo: Shows the five members doing the assigned job. The woman with tray serves as a distraction to both the store crew and the victim while the designated thief is doing his job.
Thieves are are always on the look out for your hard-earned cash, gadgets and credit cards. It is not wise to bring your valuables in a small bag wherever you go. Hold your bag always, put it on your lap and not behind you. Do not leave it on another chair or on top of the counter while paying. Most important of all is to keep an eye on it at all times. Thieves will do anything to get your attention. So always be alert and aware of the people in the surroundings.
He is known to many as Manny, who was in CDO for the PCCP convention. He was one of the three victims who was seated at a table where the bomb was allegedly placed, contained in a bag and killed them on the spot during the blast. Three other victims were also killed that night and two more died at the hospital, Monday. Manny works for the pharmaceutical company, Sandoz as the Company District Manager. Sandoz is the subsidiary of the global pharmaceutical leader Novartis, in the Philippines. To accept his death is very difficult for the family. He was only 35. His wife, Heteluv, is left with their two little girls to care, who are yet in grade school.
To his brothers, Atty. Jules Christian Marcos and Jerico Marcos, his death was "senseless". Manny is the youngest of three boys raised alone by their mother, Fatima. As the family lawyer and spokesperson, Atty. Jules expressed the plans of filing a case against those behind the bombing and also, against the police and the rest of those involved in the clean-up of the crime scene in CDO. Evidence that could have helped strengthen the case once they identify the bomber becomes weak because the place was cleaned-up before the investigation.

An innocent life was lost, and a family bereaved. Atty. Jules says that if the bombing has any political agenda, they should have expressed their grievances in other ways that do not claim lives of innocent people just like Manny who was only there at the call of duty. He works hard to support his family.
The initial schedule of the burial is on Friday, awaiting the arrival of Manny's mother and brother, Jerico from Davao City.

Manny is a
resident of Zamboanga City, whose wife, Heteluv and two adorable children (both
girls), excitedly awaits his return from every travel. Today, he will come home
in a casket that brings profound sorrow to his wife, children and the rest of
the family. His mother, Fatima Desierto Palafox, whose roots are from Ipil, Zamboanga
del Sur, and brother Jerico, grieve from Davao and scheduled to come home for
the burial; while his other brother, Atty. Jules Christian Marcos takes care of
all the necessary funeral arrangements from home. He was fondly called Tata in
the family, who had been one of the world’s most wonderful husband and father.
The bomber
used an improvised explosive device that also injured 48 others. There is no tolerance
for this violence in a supposedly peaceful community of CDO. From a grieving
family, there can be no justification in taking away a father who works hard to
put his children in school and bring home food to the table. To his wife, he
was the world she knew. He was a good son to his mother who regularly visits on
Sundays after attending mass and a loving brother to his siblings and cousins.
Emmanuel Desierto Palafox, hasta la vista. Rest in peace with the Lord, kuya Tata.

Blogging is essentially an informal form of writing articles online. Usually, when one decides to start a blog, creating content appears to be easy at first because of the overflowing inspiration and hype. Most of the bloggers I know started out their journey in the blogosphere as a plain hobby - something that they can spend their extra time into and share whatever they like. However, once you take your blogging to the next level and turn it into a professional portfolio or a means to earn money online, it becomes such a tedious task with all the researching involved.
If you are working as a web content writer or a blogger accepting paid posts and reviews, you certainly understand where I'm coming from. Have you ever experienced being assigned with a writing task that you completely know nothing about? I have been blogging for quite some time now and recently got a job as a web content writer. Today I would like to share with you five of my favorite tools that helped me get back a little bit of my time. There are a lot of productivity tools out there but these five I use most often. I hope you will find them helpful to you as much as they did for me.
1. Toggl Online Time Tracker (https://www.toggl.com/)
Toggle labels themselves as an insanely simple way to track time online. In my experience, they really are and will definitely save you time compared to manually tracking your tasks on time sheets or spreadsheets. You just type in your current task and then start the tracker. If you need to pause from work and have a break, you simply click stop. Once you are back, click continue.
Time tracking is very important especially when you are being paid on an hourly basis. For those who don't, tracking your time is still a valuable information to keep as it helps you identify if you have made any improvements productivity wise.
2. Diigo Social Bookmarking Tool (https://www.diigo.com/)
Diigo is a very powerful tool when doing research online. Aside from being an excellent way to organize your bookmarks, Diigo allows you to annotate (or highlight) important paragraph or paragraphs of virtually any online article. Imagine skimming through a very long Wikipedia article and seconds later you found yourself wanting to go back to a specific part but there is no way to quickly identify it? Diigo's highlighter option is fit for the job.
3. Lightshot Screenshot Tool (http://app.prntscr.com/)
Screenshots are one of the most common things a blogger needs to do especially for those "how to" posts but is also one of the most tedious task. Lighshot is a lightweight and easy to use screenshot tool with lots of additional features such as editing and annotation, upload screenshot to Lightshot server to get quick web link, and finding visually similar images. It is available as a web browser extension or as a stand alone software that perfectly integrates with your keyboard's Print Screen button.
What makes Lightshot stand out from competitor tools is that it allows you to select any area on a desktop. Unlike the conventional screenshot method wherein you have to manually crop the screenshot, this tool enables you to capture only a specific area that you want. You can literally capture, copy and then paste images to a word processor without any editing.
4. IFTTT Automation Tool (https://ifttt.com/)
IFTTT or If This Then That is a service that lets you automate countless tasks in a very simple way. As the name implies, you just select a trigger and then set an action. Save a substantial amount of time by having the internet work for you instead of doing them manually.
5. Evernote (https://evernote.com/) or Google Keep (https://drive.google.com/keep/)
Blog post inspiration can come from anywhere so save your thoughts, ideas, things you like, interesting things you saw, read or hear so you can come back to them later. If you are fond of using post its or scribbling on a notebook, these apps makes powerful alternatives at the same time cost effective.

When visiting Zamboanga, a traveler’s first tour
in the morning is to visit a satti
house for breakfast. Satti is the
spicy dish popular among locals of Zamboanga. It is the food that perks up your
morning. Satti is served with sticky rice uniquely cooked in a wooven coconut
leaf to create its square-like shape, and sticks of grilled beef and chicken meat swimming in the thick, spicy and hot sauce. It is the
sauce that makes all the difference giving it the special taste. Zamboangueños claim that your Zamboanga trip
is never complete without this food. From
the wisdom of the old (my dad) who had been eating satti most of his mornings: find a satti house operated by a Chinese because they make tasteful sauce
distinct from the rest.
The unique flavor of this food
is what makes many Chavacanos (people of Zamboanga) miss their home. Mornings
in Zamboanga for many joggers, students and office workers begin at a satti house. It has become the comfort
food for many because of its rich texture and spicy flavor that gives a calming
sensation. This is one food that can make your heart a beat faster and
sweat glands get to work.
A serving of satti is
a complete meal. It’s a great starter for the day. To make the sauce, several spices are blended
altogether: dulaw (turmeric), sambal, curry, lemon grass, native pepper,
red cayenne pepper, garlic, cumin, coriander, chili, onions and salt. These
ingredients are pounded until texture becomes powdery. To refine and thicken
the sauce, cornstarch is added and stirred continuously until you achieve the
desired consistency. You can use tomatoes, soy sauce, and peanuts optionally to
tame the zesty flavor. We have never tried cooking satti at home; but I wish to
share the recipe I found from a Facebook Page by a Zamboangueño:
SATTI
de Zamboanga
How
to make SAMBAL (Soup). This is for a 7 - 8 quart pot
Ingredients:
1.

you want fire)
2.
-
Ginger
5 thump
size
3.
- Turmeric
(azafran) 4 thump
size
4.
-
Onions 1 Bulb (fist size)
5.
- Oregano
6 leaves (or 1 teasespoon if power is used)
6.
- Oil
7.
- Shrimp paste
(Bagon) ¼ -1/2 tsp
8.
-
Tomato 1
9. - Flour 1/2 cup +
10. - Corn
Starch 1/2 cup +
11. - Sugar
1 1/2 cu
12. -
Salt 1 tbsp
13. - Anito Power
(Achuete) 15g (2 packs)
14. - Knorr Cube
(Chicken) 3 - 4 cubes
15. - Coconut milk
(gata)* ¼ cup or les
16. – Peanut
butter 1 tsp
17. – Curry Power ½ - 1 tsp (optional)
18. -- Taro Root
(tumon)* small size
(about 2 inches in diameter)
*Procedure:
Step
1: Boil 6 quarts of water. Add the taro root(if you have some). Add ingredients
14, 15, and 17. When boiling, stir,
Step
2: Mince and Blend ingredients 1 to 5 (add small amount of water just enough to
start the blend)
Step 3: Mix ingredients 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Add 1 cup(
or more) of water, stir until free of
lumps.
Step
4: Sauté (Gisa) shrimp paste and tomato with oil then add the mixed ingredients
1 to 5 (Sauté until partly dried)
Step
5: Pour the sauté into the boiling water, stir, then add coconut
milk(optional). Add the mix from step 3. add water to reach desired thickness.
Keep
in medium flame for 15 - 30 minutes (or more) with frequent stirring to avoid
"stickings" on the pot. Add water to lessen the thickness of the soup
– if you prefer it that way.
Cool
down for 2 minutes then serve. Enjoy
You
can refrigerate it or freeze for later use. Microwave every bowl for 3-4 minutes. Stir in between heating. Just a tip, stove/fire heating the sambal
seems to be better than microwaving. Just dub the pot with oil before pouring the
sambal. Stir occasionally while heating.
How to Prepare the Beef or Chicken
on sticks :
-
Marinate with calamansi, salt, sugar and achuete
-
Brush with coconut milk (optional)
PUSO’:
The Rice (since coconut leave is hard to find here in the US, just cook it in a
rice cooker with less water - just enough to cook the rice.
The author added a note that
the recipe he shared including all measurements were based from his personal preference
of taste. I just shared the ingredients and steps to prepare and cook satti ala Zamboangueño style. You can play with the taste by experimenting a
little bit with the basic measurements and procedures. I have never tried this
recipe at home so for those who will try this, I’d be happy to hear about your
feedback.

Kidnapping is rampant in Metro Manila,Philippines. The kidnappers favorite victims are the Filipino Chinese, known for their millions, who can afford to pay for the ransom money. Recently, a Filipino-Chinese businesswoman was abducted inside her office in Metro Manila. Her relatives had immediately called the authorities for help but failed to rescue the kidnap victim. Sally Chua was easily transported from Metro Manila to Mindanao. She and the kidnappers traveled successfully by land, sea and air. After 6 days of being held up, she was rescued from the hands of 15 kidnappers while about to withdraw P15 million as her ransom in Davao City. Davao City Police killed 3 of the kidnappers and arrested one of them.
It was traumatic for the victims knowing that authorities was already right in front of you many times but failed to do their job correctly. During a press conference, Chua said in a press conference that the police officers in Metro Manila did not take action to intercept the kidnappers. “The first day, I was mad. We were trapped in traffic on EDSA but no policemen made the effort to intercept. If they conducted pursuit operations, they could have caught up with the kidnappers. We traveled on EDSA for almost an hour,” she said. “There were checkpoints but our vehicles were not checked. If the police checked on the vehicles, they could have seen the M-16 baby Armalite rifle and other short firearms,” she added. The police checkpoints set up along Osmeña Highway were ineffective, according to the victim.
It is sad to hear that when it comes to rescuing the victims, we can't count on the authorities in Metro Manila. All the check points are useless. It is either they are incapable for the job or are too scared to check all the cars so they just let them get away easily. But don't generalized the poor performance of the law enforcer, Philippines has Davao City, were criminals are not welcome. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte made it clear that Davao City is not a safe place for criminals, “It is either you leave Davao City horizontally or vertically. It is your choice. Just do not f*** here in my city,”. Davao has zero tolerance to criminals , they eliminate them in the face in their city. But the Commission on Human Rights under the leadership of Etta Rosales was not happy when the Davao police killed those kidnappers. Malacanang even reminded Duterte that a shoot-to-kill order is against the law.
If shoot to kill is illegal, then what the is legal way to kill these criminals? If you were in the shoes of those policemen, will you give them the chance to live? Remember these are heavily armed criminals and do not hesitate to kill if given a chance.
